Meditation and Mindfulness Techniques
More and more people around the world are meditating, and for good reason. Research consistently shows that adopting a meditation practice improves one's ability to manage stress and anxiety, get better sleep, decrease emotional reactivity, and even help manage pain. With the explosion in diagnosed depression and anxiety since the pandemic, now more than ever people are desperate for ways to manage these symptoms. From hospitals to schools to boardrooms, you can find professionals offering meditations to their populations.

Yet, many people still struggle with meditation, or have not yet explored what it can do for them. Part of this is because it's often hard to sit and "be still" on a regular and consistent basis. Western cultures, especially in the U.S., focus heavily on busyness and productivity, and sitting still in contemplation does not fit that mindset. Despite the mounting evidence of the benefits of adopting a meditation practice, we are at a point in time where your worth is often equated with your wealth, and your value as a person is intrinsically tied to what you produce. Taking time for yourself to just sit feels foreign to many.

Fortunately, there are a variety of meditation apps out there that can really help introduce people to the practice. Unfortunately, many people struggle to maintain a practice with the app alone, or quickly abandon meditation after not seeing any real results after a few weeks.

As a meditation facilitator, I not only lead clients through a guided meditation, but also work with them on how to build and sustain a practice, so that they can truly incorporate meditation in their daily routines if they wish to. I use meditations aimed at the specific needs of the client, which can range from reducing stress to removing limiting beliefs. I teach clients about mindfulness practices and how to use them in their everyday lives in order to stop the typical stress response most of us are living in daily. I help clients feel the mind/body/soul connection.
